(I´m giving this place 5 stars, but 4 is probably more accurate if you compare it to sushi and Chinese food places in NYC.) I stop by Wasabi about once a week for a bubble tea and either some sushi or the broccoli chicken. Wasabi is the only place in West Chester that serves bubble tea, and it is usually very good and natural. The "regular" bubble tea does not have any additive artificial powder stuff; it's just milk, jazmine tea, pearls, sugar, and a little ice. Yum! I've lived in Japan so the sushi cannot compare...At Wasabi it is westernized sushi, but very tasty and addicting nonetheless, and they will make it for you the way you want. My favorite is "Yummy"! Usually Chinese food is too salty, saucy, oily for me, and the meat too soft. But the taste, smell, and texture of Wasabi's broccoli and chicken seems quite natural and fresh. Not oily and no lingering aftertaste. Also, you can order meals with brown rice. A very good option for those with a sensitive or picky stomach. Sushi aside, if you are looking for authentic Japanese food, you may be disappointed as that's not their specialty. (Although my friend from Tokyo once ordered their sashimi and said it was "quite good.") In response to other reviewers about customer service, I agree, there is one girl there who is moody and exhausted by late evening, but just 1 out of 10 or so employees. It may be a cultural or personal thing. Not a big deal, the food is worth it. The rest of the employees there are hard-working and attentive. Watch out -- this place gets extremely busy on Friday and Saturday evenings and nights. There will be a bit of a line. Finally, I like the smell of the place. It's immaculate, and smells like sushi. Sie sie, Wasabi!

I loved the food! I've been trying so hard to find a good Chinese place for take out and I found it tonight!! Didn't have that "Americanized" taste! I will be back for sure! I agree that the girl at the counter seemed cold but for amazing food I'll deal with it!

I was shocked by how rude the girl at the register was today. I ordered takeout and she acted like I was bothering her. Customer Service is very important and even tho the food I ordered was very good , her attitude and rudeness turned me off. I've been here many times before but it will be a long time before I go back to get treated like that again! The taller girl with the glasses seemed to be nice and she kept looking at the rude girl like she was out of her mind for treating a customer like that! I hope the owners can determine who I am talking about.

We love this place for sushi. They also have a kick ass hot&sour soup. The service is hit or miss but that hasn't changed our raves about the quality of their sushi and the fresh, creative rolls.

One of my favorite sushi places. The price is right & the quality is very good. It's small in there and can get busy, but it's worth the wait. One of my favorite sushi options is Godzilla roll. On the Chinese food menu I love their Mongolian beef with brown rice. Best Mongolian beef I've ever had.

Wow. Service is paramount. Taste is very special. So warm and friendly. Go here and you will definitely be returning. Clean, and engaging. Staff is so helpful. I love coming here. The selection of sushi is great. Be here soon.

While we have only chosen to order takeout from Wasabi, we have been there 7 times in 7 weeks! My boyfriend and I really appreciate that they are always so willing to wrap our rolls in soy paper as requested. While we have had to wait upon arrival for our takeout, we know it will be a delicious, quality meal so we don't mind. It's always good to see this place packed for dinner with a line for people waiting for their takeout. ..a GREAT sign and testament to excellent food! Our only complaint are the prices...a bit high. Especially since we are regulars, tough to keep paying high prices so often!

I fail to understand the high ratings this place receives. Ordered takeout over the weekend consisting of sushi and a couple Chinese dishes. It was average at best. Some of our group thought the Alaska rolls tasted strange. The other rolls were unremarkable. Although the price is cheaper, I'd rather pay more at Kooma for (imho) better product. Will I go back? Probably not. Would I recommend? Only if you don't want to shell out $$$ at Kooma.

Gave these guys another chance and we actually got seated this time, enjoyed a bottle of wine, and the sushi was quite good. I'm averaging up to three stars for now, and who knows, maybe another visit or two will get another star. I should mention, however, that there were some people in the tiny lobby area that had been waiting for their take-out orders for something like 45 minutes, and were pretty upset. Seems like they get really busy on weekend nights, so plan accordingly, whether eating in or taking out.

This is such a great place. For two college kids that love sushi the price is great and you get a lot for your money. The interior is cute and we had lovely service. we got there around 5 and were seated right away the food came with a very little wait time. Ten out of ten would recommend :)

Good food and good price.sushi is awesome. Waiters there were so funny, Manager say if you have a question or any suggest you can tell us。I like that.

Best sushi place around! Since it's BYOB, my fiancé and I got a bottle of wine next door and brought it over. Their rolls are so reasonable and fresh! We got 6 rolls, 2 soups and the spicy tuna tartar for $60ish! Ya can't beat it. It's a small place so I recommend making reservations but no sushi place in the area competes with Wasabi!

Compared to the other sushi options in West Chester (namely Kooma), this place is low key while still a nice atmosphere and the sushi is great. The prices are fair and the staff is also very friendly.

Have ordered take out a half dozen times here over the past two years. The restaurant is extremely busy and crowded and seems to be very popular. Take out? Want something cooked a particular way with particular ingredients? Forget it - the kitchen seems to ignore requests. Ordered vegetable fried rice, extra broccoli, overcooked (soft) with extra sauce. The order came back lightly cooked, no sauce and no broccoli. Rice with scattered peas and carrot fragments. Might as well have ordered plain white rice. Once again the order was tossed out in the back yard for the critters. Judging from the crowd it is probably a great place to eat. As for take out, try somewhere else.

My son & I came here for lunch today 4/25/14. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere to it. For an appetizer, we ordered Crab Rangoon which was perfectly balanced with crab & cream cheese and fried crispy with sweet & sour sauce. We both ordered lunch specials. I ordered the Japanese spicy tuna bento box & my son ordered General Tso's Chicken extra spicy with Pork Lo mein. The food was excellent. The service was ok, our server was attentive & friendly, but some of the staff were rude. Also another thing we want to add is when an appetizer comes out give the diners time to enjoy the first course before the meal. My son is a culinary professional and was very disappointed when our lunch specials came out too soon before we had time to finish our appetizer. Time management was poorly executed needs to be addressed to management and the owners. I'm very sure your establishment take this very seriously but we just wanted to let you know. The food was very good, other than minor issues as described, better service & time management, just on work them and you will be fine :) We will surely return and enjoy Wasabi again :-) Recommended!

Fun atmosphere inside. Great sushi and decent prices. We do takeout often and sometimes eat in. Service has always been fast.

My boyfriend and I went to Wasabi last night for dinner and we were both pleasantly surprised! For being in a small strip mall, the outside appearance was deceiving. The menu offered a variety of Chinese dishes and sushi. We had delicious sushi, very fresh, made at a counter that is in open view. My boyfriend got the Dragon & Phoenix and he couldn't stop raving about the flavor. It was fried chicken with a sauce that was sweet with a tiny kick and shrimp with steamed vegetables. The shrimp were the largest I've seen from a Chinese place in this area. Overall very high quality, good atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back or ordering take-out more often!

OK experience. The inside decor was a pleasant surprise from the outside. It is nice that is BYOB. We enjoyed our meals but it wasn't anything special as far as Chinese food goes. We did not try the sushi but heard that it is good there. We may return to give the sushi a try in the future.

This place was such an awesome recent discovery! The interior of the space is pretty hip for a place in the middle of a grogery store strip mall kind of setting and the servers/staff are super friendly. I ordered two sushi rolls and both were delicious. The sweet potato roll was rich, buttery and a little crunchy and the "out of control" roll was packed with delicious, fresh flavors and tons of fish. But perhaps best of all? THEY HAVE BUBBLE TEA! Yes, folks. Bubble tea in West Chester! I got a taro bubble tea and it was so good. I will definitely be vising this place again (and again and again).

I really enjoyed this restaurant!! I am not a sushi person but I really enjoyed looking at all the LED lighted creations and trays! The dish I did choose was mouth watering. I have been wanting to go back since!!

In my opinion, best sushi place in West Chester. Godzilla Roll is a must order. We usually end up ordering the daily special roll which has never been a bad choice either. We also have ordered out when we are craving sushi but just want a night in. Love the atmosphere and the fact that it's BYO. Definitely recommend!

The Mango Chicken chefs special is AMAZING. Mango so freshly cut and served inside of the mango shells. best Chinese take-out in West Chester. Their Wonton Soup was average and I also tried the Mango Kani Salad which was delicious.

I've been here once before and have had take out several times. I love the atmosphere and the take-out is good. Not crazy about their tuna rolls. What leads me to write this review and give two stars is my experience yesterday. The food was good. I ordered the lunch special Garlic Shrimp and a california roll. Got the Won-ton soup and then both my roll and my lunch at the same time. I asked for the roll first. Very tasty garlic shrimp..subtle flavors. What really ruined my experience though was the waitress. Served with an air of irritation and disinterest like I WAS BOTHERING HER. Made me very uncomfortable. I will have to give some consideration before I think to eat there again.

Eek! Methinks not... The food at this restaurant was terrible. I was passing through Lancaster and, as usual, turned to Yelp for a recommendation. At the time I did this the restaurant had 4 stars and I am glad at the time of this writing it had fallen to 3 1/2. But it should go even lower. My table ordered two soups, Miso and Clear. The Clear was tepid and OK, but the miso was cold and tasteless. Next came burnt Gyoza. The dumplings obviously had been frozen. They were still cold on the inside and the cook that was supposed to warm them, burnt them on the outside, without warming them. We sent those back and ordered a Thai Beef Salad. The salad was better than the Gyoza but not by much. I have never seen a salad as bad as this in ANY Thai restaurant I have been in. It was a disgrace. A second appetizer was sliced octopus served over thinly sliced cucumber. Good idea but the execution was a second disgrace. Everything had been frozen. The cucumber was mush. Ever eaten cucumber that has been frozen? Eek!! The octopus was also a soggy, water logged mess. The Sushi arrived before I could cancel it and leave, and here is the real disaster. Sushi is all about rice. This rice was like a paste. You could not discern that it was even made up of grain, it was a translucent spread. OMG, how bad can it get! If you get an urge for Asian food, try a different place...

I gave this place one more try (3rd time). I experienced extraordinarily rude service and mediocre sushi the last two visits. This time I walked out even before they completed my order (which is a big deal for me, because I am a sushi hound.) Unbelievably surly service. No greeting. No smile. No conversation. They don't take requests or changes, even as I offered to pay more money for a substitution. It's clear to me that everyone who works here is miserable and could care less about the customer. I'm dubious about some of the high reviews since I've given this place three tries. I suspect this is family owned, the younger kids work front of the house and clearly don't want to be there (the "sushi chef" looked 16). There are much better places in the West Chester area to satisfy your sushi craving (like Fusion and Asuka). Do not do it here. Hopefully in the future this place will get new owners who appreciate the customer.

A solid choice for take out, a little on the pricey side. The interior is a nice quiet setting.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
